The proposition is an exploration of visualising the perceivable and non- perceivable
topological properties of space as laid out by scientific research, and conjoining them with
the existing architectural form, the Wren tower.

Plans and Section
The topology of space projected on St. Augustine’s Tower produces a bewildering
atmosphere of curved form slipping in and out of the natural shape of the original building
creating a perceivable space from which different silhouettes of shape emerge depending on
the perspective of the viewer

The eroded facade is supported internally by a steel structure in the shape of a gravity well
that goes deep underground stretching its form beneath the Earth. Implicating the high
density and weight of the architectural proposal as objects with higher mass have a deeper
gravity well. Concrete will be used to give life to this architectural link between void and solid
to better merge together the relationship between the old architectural elements and the new
intrusions.
